CNN at it again

Three of CNN's chosen headlines for the day:

  1. Jenna Bush sticks out tongue at photographers
  2. Britney Spears' fiance a father again
  3. Mary-Kate Olsen to return home soon

Three of today's stories NOT covered by CNN today:
  1. Democratic advisor Berger absconded with classified documents in his pants*
  2. Berger, Under Attack, Steps Aside as Kerry Adviser
  3. Berger: 'I Deeply Regret' an 'Honest Mistake'
  4. New Report to Back Up Iraq WMD Claims

Interesting, no?

Interesting, sickening, saddening, maddening, just plain preposterous.

Ah yes, another Fox news report promising WMD "any day now". Reports like that are the reason for reports like this:

http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Iraq/Media_10_02_03_Report.pdf

It starts getting good on page 13.

And that AP story is the only one I have seen anywhere that claims Berger snuck papers out in his "pants". Elsewhere, it is reported he put them in his pants pockets. While no less incriminating, a lot less sinister. Good reason for checking multiple sources, but then you wouldn't have had that catchy headline, eh?

oh, come on. ID yourself. Play fair. Pants or no pants, it's an intriguing story. If "it wasn't in his pants" is the only available red herring, I wouldn't want to be in his camp.

New today:

Don't forget: I have not made one comment about Berger. I've only stated that on that day, when that news continued to evolve, CNN chose to give greater weight to the Olsen twins, Britney Spears, and Jenna's tongue.

My only point. Nothing to argue there.

Now, If I were to ask the question, "how would CNN and the media be handling this issue if Berger was a Bush adviser?"...

I wonder what the responses would be. People are oh-so sensitive these politically charged days. So much name-calling. So much conclusion jumping. So much meanness. Ugly days. I can hardly wait until December, when it'll all be over, for better or for worse.

You are ignoring the other side of the sorry "news" reported by CNN.

Also, if there is any report about WMD, we should at least be hearing about it, even if it is reported (as it was) that it is a report that also is being discredited by sources. Full news is better than filtered news and entertainment garbage (pronounced gar-baahhj).

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was defending CNN. I agree, they are little better than the rags at the supermarket checkout. Nor am I defending Berger. Though really, who would want those papers back after he's had them stuffed down his crotch?
